Everyone Needs a Few Passions
I love developing great people, organizations, and causes.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work for great organizations in great cities such as San Diego, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Denver. These included both faith-based organizations and for-profit, venture-backed companies. In addition to my experience with local churches, I have also worked in several start-up environments, including the early team at Christianity.com. Christianity.com was backed by Sequoia Capital, an investor in companies like Apple and Google. Later, in 2007, I helped launch an ecommerce site for a $400 million pool construction company.
My passion is to use the skills and experience I have been blessed with to make a positive impact on people and our world. Here are a few things that catch my fancy on a regular basis:
- Fine-tuning my ability to communicate God’s truth clearly.
- Finding ways to leverage new technologies to grow and expand the kingdom.
- Investing relationally in up-and-coming leaders.
- Helping church planters grow healthy churches.
- Drinking good coffee.
As a pastor and entrepreneur, I’ve been privileged to coach individuals at various stages of their personal or professional development. It’s one of the most exciting things I do.

Why am I a coach?
I have always enjoyed helping people discover meaning and purpose. As a pastor for many years, it required me to develop skills in a multitude of areas — skills that I enjoy using to help people grow and develop.
What experience do I bring to the coaching environment?
Great question! My education includes undergraduate and graduate work in history, theology, and leadership. In addition, I have over 27 years of experience as a pastor, public speaker, coach, and entrepreneur. This includes founding my own company and starting a new church. I also serve on the board of directors for four non-profits.
