We had one goal in mind when we travelled this week to Highlands Ranch: to return to San Diego with a forwarding address. In prepping for the trip, I noticed there's not an abundance of rental homes in Highlands Ranch -- even fewer that were within the range of what we wanted to spend on rent. At one house, we toured the house at the same time as two other couples toured the house ... and even more were scheduled an hour later. We submitted an application for the house only to have someone else submit one before us. Another house we were scheduled to view cancelled a few hours beforehand because the house had just been rented. Our prayer for the last few weeks has been for God to provide the right house, in the right neighborhood, with good friends and a good school for the girls. With that…

Saturday morning started with Hope having to be at her softball game at 7 AM. Warm-up for an hour, then game time. Hannah's sixth grade graduation was scheduled for 11:30 (and I'm the commencement speaker). At 9 AM we get a call from our landlord that a potential buyer wants to walk through the house at 11. So, Tonya leaves the game early to go home and start cleaning. I arrive at about 10:15 and chip in but still need to shower. Amazingly we made it to the school on time and intact. After graduation we go to lunch and then to Hope's second softball game (got her first two hits!). We arrive back home around 6:30 and I'm asleep by 7:30. And that was just Saturday ...

As our move to Denver is about four weeks away, my "to do" list is taking on a life of its own. Moving trucks need to be scheduled, helping hands need to be organized. We travel to Denver next week to rent a house. I have two sermons still to preach at LifePoint -- which still has a few final decisions left. At Blue Haven, I'm trying to get new projects launched and handed-off to the right people. When I arrive at Mountainview Church, I'll have two weekends of preaching. Packing and unpacking.
