The Grace of God is the Glue

By Church
Known as the “Brown Bomber,” Joe Louis burst onto the boxing scene in 1935 to become one of America’s first black sports stars. He appeared unbeatable until 1936. That’s when he fought Max Schmeling, a German fighter who was the personal favorite of Adolph Hitler. Schmeling defeated Louis and Hitler branded him an Aryan hero. The two fought again in 1938 in front of 70,000 people at Yankee Stadium. Promoters billed it as the battle between America and the Nazis. The match was filled with racial and political implications. This time, Joe Louis won by scoring a brutal knockout. The tension between the United States and Germany would get worse over the next few years (years that included World War 2 and the Holocaust). But there was also tension here at home … On the one hand, Americans viewed Joe Louis as a boxing hero. Our Mighty God

By Church
For many of us, our view of God is way too small. In my younger years, I saw God as the principal in high school. Stick to the rules or else you’ll end up in his office and that won’t be any fun. Perhaps there is an empty chair around the dinner table. Regardless of our personal experiences or feelings, Christmas is a reminder that God offers us the opportunity to be led by a Wonderful Counselor. Isaiah is an interesting character in the Bible. He’s known as one of the Major Prophets and will be quoted in the New Testament over 65 times. As a prophet, Isaiah had worked with godly rulers and ungodly rulers. In that sense, not much has changed. During the time we’re going to study, Isaiah is working with one of…

Enlarging Your Circle of Love – Video

By Church
In order to make a lasting difference we must have a compelling dream from God. The biggest competitor will be our own selfishness – which is why we must enlarge our circle of love.Watch more videos at the Mountainview YouTube channel. Need a Speaker or Presenter?
