It's to know we are loved by him and that we are loving towards others. To be rooted and established in God’s love means we are drawing from God what we need to live on and live for. When we lived in Northern California, we didn’t live too far from the redwood and sequoia trees. These amazing trees can grow as high as 300 feet with a diameter that may exceed 20 feet. When you are physically hungry, you’ll eat almost anything. The same is true for spiritual hunger. When we’re spiritually hungry, some people will settle for anything that momentarily fills them up. What's the problem with a momentary solution? They don’t last. Our real need is internal – to have a sense of worth and purpose. But momentary solutions are often focused on the outside.
