What’s happening with the Hensleys?

weekend update

By Church, Family
Our Mountainview church office is closed on Fridays so Tonya and I have been spending our Fridays together - usually at thrift stores and new restaurants.  After tracking down a few stores, we'll hit a new spot for lunch.  Two weeks ago we stumbled upon Moe's BBQ in Englewood.  Besides having great BBQ, catfish, and corn fritters, they also have a vintage bowling alley next door.  After eating fried catfish with a side of banana pudding, I opted out of the bowling experience.  This past Friday, we ventured out into Aurora and beyond and found a joint called Dickey's BBQ.  Though part of a national chain, the food was outstanding -- I especially recommend the baked potato casserole.  If you pick the two-meat-meal, you can pick two sides.  Pick the baked potato casserole. On Saturday we took the girls to Washington Park, one of the largest parks here in Denver. …

remember your towel

I enjoyed a great workout this morning.  One of the perks of living in Highlands Ranch is membership at the local recreation centers.  My routine: walk five laps (a half-mile), hit the elliptical machine for 25 minutes, and then do a series of weight machines.  It makes for a good sweat.  On weekdays, I'll drop Hannah off at school and be at the gym by 7:30 ... workout ... shower ... and head for the office.  Not too complicated. thunderstorms

colorado dmv

We made our required trip to the Colorado DMV yesterday to register our cars and get our new driver's licenses.  Having experienced the California DMV, we anticipated a long wait.  Not so!  At the drivers's license office, we were the only two people there.  It took about 15 minutes for both of us to finish.  Getting our cars registered was a bit trickier because we had to get an emissions test (we passed) and prove our out-of-state insurance had high enough coverage (it did).  Even so, the entire process ran smoothly and didn't take nearly as long as it would have in California.  Now we'll have to wait a few weeks to see what our driver's license picture looks like.
