Simple Steps to Change – Cancel Your Pity Party

When people do the thermostat/thermometer exercise, they usually find “good” reasons why they haven’t been successful or more accomplished. It might be a bad boss, the poor economy, or how they were raised.

Self-pity is sideways energy. It is wasted energy. No football team has ever advanced the ball forward by sitting at the line of scrimmage feeling sorry for themselves.

You can cancel the pity party. You can take the time and energy you would have spent wallowing about life and apply it to winning in life.

TAKE ACTION: When you begin to feel sorry for yourself, stop and begin listing all the good things about your situation. Start today by listing five things you have to be thankful for.
